Committees are emergent and created to work on specific legislative, educational, or other projects, and their proposals are endorsed by the wider MERJ coalition.

Committees are made up of a minimum of three active members; no one organization may comprise more than 50% of each committee. MERJ intends to slowly and thoughtfully grow its committee structure.

Past and current committees include: the legislative committee, organizational structure committee, and the facilitation integrity committee.
